Il Vinaio offers unique 'red red' wine pairing dinner

Downtown Mesa restaurant Il Vinaio is presenting a special “red red” wine pairing dinner Wednesday.

The original idea was to pair red wines with red meats, but owner Cameron Selogie and chef Patrick Boll decided to have a little fun by stretching the definition of “red meat.”

Thus, the five-course meal will include grilled bobwhite quail, buttered mussel, braised pork pie and cornmeal-crusted salmon. Each will be paired with a complementary red wine.

Check out the full menu and pairings here.

The 6:30 p.m. dinner will cost $60. Reservations: (480) 649-6476.
